John William Gaines

John William Gaines, age 85 of Lafayette, passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 13th, at his residence.  Funeral services for John Gaines will be conducted on Saturday, August 20th at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Pastor Johnny Beaver officiating.  Burial will be in the Anderson & Son Memorial Park with Military Honors.  Mr. Gaines was a purple Heart recipient in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Fuller Gaines of Lafayette, sons, Dennis (Annette) Isgitt of Sourth Carolina, Jimmy Ray Gaines of Bastrop, LA, Timothy Gaines, Michael (Audra) Gaines, all of Olive Branch, MS, daughter, Kathy (Douglas) Walker of Bastrop, LA, brothers, Charles (Michelle) Gaines, Lafayette, TN, Roy Dye of Gulf Port, MS, sisters, Barbara Jo Fuller, Lafayette, TN, Janet Wooten of Gulf Port, MS, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
