At an early age, he quit school to take care of his dad and mom due to his dad becoming disabled at a young age. Larry and his family were and are still members of the Haysville community, where they all love to be a part of. Larry was a very prideful tobacco farmer. He loved it and lived it. It was his life.
He had always thought that Haysville was the garden spot of the Earth, and never wanted to be anywhere else.
Larry was a kind man to everyone and all who knew him, and people liked him because he treated all people the same, whether they were rich or poor, and he was very much a man of his word.
Larry loved his wife and son dearly, who worked side by side with him for a lifetime. He was a full time farmer his entire life, raising tobacco, cattle, and hay. He was a simple man. He loved family, farming, old tractors, going to tractor pulls with friends, and going to church. He loved to sing ever since he was exposed to it at a very young age.
In this union, it was one son, Larry Wayne Law, who was introduced to farming at an early age and instilled the same prideful nature of farming and tobacco, and all of this helped him through life. Larry also enjoyed all the years he got to spend with his grandkids on the farm.
He was very proud of his grandchildren, Jessica and Samantha Law. He wanted to make sure that they were raised right, and, if nothing else, had things better than he did. They have been taken to church, were raised to work and to be kind to everyone. It was instilled in them that whatever they decided to do in life to do it to the best of their abilities.
He was a lifelong resident of the Haysville community of Macon County and attended church at Haysville Missionary Baptist Church regularly until he got sick. He never told verbally of being saved, but many actions, such as singing during his sickness and asking many questions about going to church, showed he made it right and the family prayed they’d get to see him again. They are truly not worried after the last 2 years taking care of him. It’s been many prayers asked for him, and the family is truly grateful.
BUT, on August 26, 2023, he told his granddaughter, Samantha, that he had been SAVED.
This made their circle complete, and the family thanks the Lord for it.
It will be different not seeing the old red and white Ford truck making his daily rounds, but there is a time when everything comes to an end, and we have to accept it. He was privileged to have good health to grow tobacco until he was 76 years old and was able to drive trucks, tractors, lawnmowers, and he got up early every morning until his final stage of sickness in 2023, but made it past his 86th birthday. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, as his presence is now a great void in all of our hearts. Everything of him now is just happy pictures, wonderful stories, and memories that we can all cherish.
I thought about this many times, but who could better write this about him than me. He was my daddy, but most of all, he was my best friend.
The family would especially also like to thank his daughter-in-law, Christy of 32 years for sacrificing so much to help with Larry the past 2 years with this disease and all of the healthcare givers, whether it was Gentiva Hospice, Adoration Home Health, or a neighbor that was involved in our lives and are greatly appreciated from the depths of our hearts.
