Leon Wooten, Age 90, of the Underwood Community in Macon County, passed away Tuesday night, June 23, 2020 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. Due to the COVID-19 virus and the church size, the family has requested a Family Only Funeral Service for Mr. Leon Wooten, which will be conducted on Saturday, June 27th from the Underwood Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Troy White officiating. Interment will follow in the Underwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The interment will be open to the public.
The body of Mr. Leon Wooten will lie in state at the Underwood Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday June 27th where visitation with the family will be prior to the funeral from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. We ask that you honor the family’s request due to the Coronavirus and based on CDC Guidelines that you refrain from hugging and any handshakes while visiting, and when possible please wear a mask.
The family request memorials in the form of donations be made to the Underwood Cemetery. You may make these donations by calling or coming by the funeral home. You may also make them at the church, during visitation time.
