Mary Alice Oldham

March 5, 1932 — February 6, 2016

Mary Alice Halliburton Oldham, age 83, of Gallatin, formerly of Lafayette, passed away on Saturday morning at Tristar Centennial in Nashville.  Funeral services for Mary Alice Halliburton Oldham will be conducted on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Anderson & Son Funeral Home in Lafayette with Elder Ricky White and Elder Mike Carver officiating.  Burial will be in Anderson & Son Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will begin on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 11:00 a.m. to service time.  Tyler McGowan, Jimmy Spivey and Sam Oldham served as Honorary Pallbearers.  Michael Herrington, Scotty Keene, Ronnie Waller, Jackie Halliburton, Danny Halliburton served as Active Pallbearers.

The former Mary Alice Halliburton was born on March 5, 1932, one of eight children born to the late John Henry  and Bessie (Brawner) Halliburton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, brothers, James, Tom, German, and Willie Edward Halliburton and two sisters, Ada Martin and Dorothy Spivey.  She married Climont Oldham on September 5, 1952, who survives and lives in Gallatin.  In her younger years, Mary Alice had worked as a cashier at The Dollar General Store, Piggly Wiggly (Reese's Big Star), and Bill Martin Food.  She was a member of the Meadorville Missionary Baptist Church and as a young lady, was a member of the Lafayette Eastern Star. 

In addition to her husband of 63 years, she is survived by, sons & daughters-in-law Marion and Wilma Oldham of Lafayette, Kelvin and Amber Oldham of Gallatin, daughters & son-in-law, Shelia Brann of Gallatin, Mary Helen and Michael McGowan of Castalian Springs, sister, Birdie Waller of Hartsville, grandchildren, Katrina Oldham of Bowling Green, Laura Sloan of Germantown, Samuel Oldham of Gallatin, LaDonna Jones of Lyles, Carrie and husband, Chuck Herrington of Scottsville, Tyler McGowan of Castalian Springs, sister-in-law, Peggy Halliburton Wade of Indianapolis, IN, special sister-in-law, Naomi Devine of Lawrenceville, GA, 7 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
