Myrtle Andrews Ellis, of Lafayette, was born Saturday, October 2, 1920 in Smith County, one of six children, to the late Bratton H. and Eunice T. (Smith) Andrews. She departed this life on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Westmoreland Care & Rehabilitation in Westmoreland, TN, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 11 days. On January 5, 1941, she was married to William Othell Ellis, spending 64 years together until his death on April 13, 2005. To this union was born two children, Calvin and Sue. Myrtle was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting and raising a vegetable garden. She was a member of Old Bottom Missionary Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Myrtle was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Gregory, and three brothers, Carsley Andrews, A.C. Andrews and Ottis Andrews. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Calvin and Lavonne Ellis, daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Frank Youree, all of Hendersonville, brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Sarah Andrews of Goodlettsville; grandsons and their wives, Troy and Angela Ellis of Portland, and Frank and Niki Youree of Chicago, IL, granddaughters and their husbands, Donna Cunningham, Stacey and Jerry Becker, all of Hendersonville, Teresa and Whitfield Hamilton of Cedar Hill, and Amy and Walter Hall of Nashville, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
