Ronald F. Tyler, age 74, of Lafayette, TN, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bethel Family Worship Center on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor’s Billy and Dot Traughber officiating. The family requests expressions in the form of donations be made to the Family Worship Center Food Ministry.
Ronald was born in Oneonta New York on December 26, 1944, one of four children born to the late Fredrick and Leta (Swart) Tyler. In addition to his parents, his brothers, Harold Vrooman and George Tyler preceded him in death.
He was married to the former Beverly Beadle on July 26, 1969, who survives and lives in Lafayette. He served his country in the army during the Vietnam War. Within seventeen days of entry, he was wounded from a land mine explosion. He still remained in the service until honorably discharged, after two years of service. He retired, after working ten years, from Corning Glass Works in Oneonta, New York. He relocated to Cookeville, TN in 1980 and worked at Tucto, Inc. in Cookeville as a welder, making heater elements. After his retirement and becoming disabled from his service-connected injuries, he relocated to Lafayette, TN in 2012. He attended church at the Bethel Family Worship Center in Lafayette, where he enjoyed working with the food ministry.
In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by, son and his wife, Eugene and Tonya Tyler, grandchildren, Samantha Tyler and Rhonda and husband, Tyler Poole, great- grandchildren, Kaelynn Tyler and Jaxon Tyler, all of the Poplar Grove Community of Macon County, sister, Evelyn Maxson of Smyrna, New York and a host of nieces and nephews.
